The MIT Plastics and the Environment Program presents a 3-day conference on Modelling Plastics in the Oceans, November 6-8 at the MIT Samberg Conference Center. Expert speakers from MIT, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, the University of Oxford and more will present on the latest computational and mathematical models for understanding the breakdown, dispersion, settlement and suspension of plastics and microplastics through our oceans and waterways. With breakout sessions to map out future research directions and discuss collaborations with industry, foundations and the public sector. Sponsored by the MIT Environmental Solutions Initiative and the World Universities Network.
Current students and faculty of any university are eligible for tickets at a discounted rate of $50. All other attendees should pay the general admission rate of $350.
If you are actively working on the problem of environmental plastics through a university or non-profit foundation, and the above rates represent a financial hardship that would prevent you from attending, please contact conference organizer Chris Noble at email@example.com.
Refund Policy: There are no refunds on ticket purchases unless an event is cancelled. If an event is cancelled, arrangements will be made to refund all ticket holders and the process for the refunds will be promoted on this website and via e-mail
