Breaking Through

The MIT Bitcoin Club is excited to announce the 9th Annual Expo to be held on May 7th and 8th, 2022 at MIT. Registration gives you access to both days. We also will provide lunch, and refreshments throughout the day.

Last year, we held a virtual event and explored The New Normal.
This year, we are back in-person with a focus on the irruption of Bitcoin into the technological and economic zeitgeist of our time, as well as the motivations it has inspired across the entire blockchain space today.

Important Notes

Student tickets: Current students can attend the Expo for free. Student tickets are refundable at the end of the Expo, once attendance of registered participants is confirmed.

NFT Airdrop:
If you are interested in taking part in an NFT airdrop, please provide a convenient ethereum wallet address (a text field will be available at checkout).

Vaccination Policy: Please note MIT’s Event Policy regarding vaccination which can be found here:

“In order to access MIT’s campus and MIT-sponsored events via the Tim Tickets system (MIT’s visitor pass system), invited visitors and event attendees must provide contact information and attest to being fully vaccinated against Covid-19, including a booster shot for eligible individuals, or having a religious belief or medical condition that prevents them from receiving the vaccine.”

At this year’s expo there will be three events happening simultaneously, co-located at MIT:

1. The Expo

The namesake conference, which will focus on the growing technology stack we believe is central to the emerging Bitcoin and blockchain ecosystem.

2. The Hackathon

This year’s hackathon focuses on building out the components of a blockchain stack so we can expand the technology’s usefulness and increase adoption. This 30-hour hackathon will bring together students for a weekend of coding, learning, experimenting, and collaborating. Separate registration required at link above.

3. The Pitch Competition

The Expo will be hosting a startup pitch competition this year. Founders will get an opportunity to pitch their ideas in front of a panel of judges from leading companies and investment firms in the crypto space. More information will be released soon.
